In 2017, Orange County saw 7,704 drug arrests. That’s more than DUI, more than assault, more than theft… more than any other category of arrests in the county. Nearly one in five arrests in Orange County in 2017 were drug arrests. The fact is that the war on drugs is alive and well in Orlando and central Florida. Police chiefs and prosecutors alike know they can make a name for themselves by grabbing headlines with a huge drug bust. Police departments devote significant resources to stings and undercover operations, and unfortunately sometimes innocent people or low-level drug offenders get caught up in their net. Penalties for drug crime convictions are harsh, including exceedingly high fines and lengthy prison sentences, many requiring a mandatory minimum amount of prison time. Don’t take chances with your drug arrest. Make sure you get top-quality advice and representation from a skilled and talented Florida drug defense attorney. Call FL Drug Defense Group for dedicated drug defense in central Florida. It’s what we do.
